Johanna Baggen joined the Internet Society as an Events Coordinator in January 2017 and has evolved to Manager, Global Events.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, she has been a Francophile since her early age and all her life decisions were taken in this direction. She has earned a Bachelor Degree of Commerce at Hogeschool Zuyd, Sittard, The Netherlands.

Her career path began in the Hospitality Industry, as a hotel Group & Events Coordinator in one of Leading Hotels of the World, Le Meurice in Paris. In this position, she had the opportunity to organize different types of events for different types of industries, from Board meetings, to fashion shows and so on. She then moved forward to lead hotel sales & events operations and conducted the re-opening of the 4 stars Parisian Boutique Hotel Balzac, only few steps away from the Champs Elysées. 

Johanna has built her family and is active in local associations dedicated to her village’s public school, for which she takes part in the organization of events to help fund extracurricular activities.

She is fluent in Dutch, English, French and has basic German knowledge.
In addition to her new challenge within ISOC, she loves sports and pushes her family to practice cycling from springtime to fall and skiing in the winter. She also shares her husband’s passion for aviation and becomes a co-pilot from time to time, flying over the beautiful region where she decided to live and raise her children.

Johanna is Geneva based, Switzerland.
